Governing Law and Contract Formation

No contract will exist between you, as web site visitor, purchaser, potential purchaser, and The Hardie Press for the sale by it to you of any product unless and until The Hardie Press accepts your order by e-mail and or postal mail or by any other means of communication deemed suitable and necessary confirming that it has dispatched your product. That acceptance will be deemed complete and will be deemed for all purposes to have been effectively communicated to you at the time at which The Hardie Press sends the e-mail or other message to you (whether or not you receive that e-mail or other message). For the avoidance of doubt, any such contract will be deemed to have been concluded in Scotland . Further, any such contract will be interpreted, construed and enforced in all respects in accordance with the laws of Scotland , and you and The Hardie Press irrevocably submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish Courts.

Storage, Disclosure & Disposal

We will hold your personal information on our systems only for our own accounting and stock processing requirements. We will not provide any commercial third party with this information.

Data will be stored on our IT and paper based systems which are located in the UK. All storage systems are accessed only by The Hardie Press staff that have the appropriate role with unique login and secure passwords. On request we will remove all personal information from our system, but it may remain on transactional records where applicable for 7 years in accordance with the HMRC requirements.

Your information will not be transferred out of the European Union.

Important note:

If you feel we have not processed your data in accordance with the Principles and Rights of the individual under GDPR, please contact admin@hardiepress.co.uk for our complaints procedure, or you may raise a complaint with the Information Commissioners Office.

Buying from us

  1. We will acknowledge receipt of your order by email and advise if the item is not in stock. We will normally fulfil your order within 7 - 10 days.
  2. We normally despatch by Royal Mail and their delivery aims are:
    • First Class - next day delivery
    • Airmail - 3-8 working days
    • Surface - up to 8 weeks
  3. Cancellation: If you wish to cancel your order, you can do so within 7 working days of receipt of goods. Please advise us in advance by email. They should be returned at your expense in their original packaging and with our delivery note stating the reason for the return, to arrive in pristine condition.
  4. Return of faulty books or books delivered in error:
    You may return these books in their original packaging and we will refund your costs. Please advise in advance by email.
